This CopyHour Review Almost Didn’t Happen

Right before I went through CopyHour, I almost ran out of money while living on a tiny little tropical island in The Philippines.

Otherwise, I’d be forced to borrow money and catch a one-way plane home.

That’s when I met Derek Johanson, the creator of CopyHour.

We were both struggling with sales and marketing in our business, and we both knew something needed to change.

He suggested that we get together and do Gary Halbert’s famous exercise where you write out sales letters and ads by hand.

Desperate for a solution to my money problem, I jumped on board and said I’d do it.

In the end, it was 4 guys.

Derek, me, Clay and another guy.

Instead of meeting once a week on Skype, his idea was to send out a sales letter or ad each day to the group, and we’d all have to write it out by hand. Then we’d log into an online forum, post our insights, questions and comments about the sales letter or ad, and discuss things together.

This is where the name “CopyHour” comes from.

I threw myself into it eagerly, like a child running around in snow for the first time in his life.

I’d caught the copywriting bug, and I wasn’t going to let it go.

Copywriting was my ticket to freedom.

I knew that if I could figure out how to write words that sell, I’d ALWAYS have a job. It didn’t matter what was going on in the world, or what the economy was doing. If I could make the cash register ring, businesses and clients would forever beat a path to my door.

Since completing CopyHour, way back in 2012, my life has been a near fairy-tale ever since.

I’ve had my share of ups and downs financially, but one way or another, I always pull through thanks to copywriting and the skills I learned from CopyHour.

Where many people get stuck in business, not knowing how to bring in sales when it really counts, I’ve been able to turn on the “money tap” any time I like.

Technically, you can… but you won’t get anywhere near the same results as if you pay for it.

That’s just talking about the benefit of paying for something.

There’s also the fact that it’s all organized for you. You don’t have to find all the sales letters yourself. They just arrive in your inbox each morning. Minimal effort required to stay organised. Therefore, minimal effort to stay focused and on track.

Then there’s the community.

Back when I did CopyHour, we used an online forum to communicate.

Since then, Derek’s upgraded the community into a private Facebook Group, with live webinars, group chats and bonus resources, in addition to the usual discussion threads for each sales letter.

So you see, there’s much more to CopyHour than simply writing out sales letters, emails and ads by hand.
